IOTA 2009
After the debacle of my 2008 attempt to activate
EU-109 Farne Island Group. I will try again for 2009.This time I have arranged private transport to the island. I am also approaching the landowner for permission for a longer expedition. The idea is to operate for two days and nights either side of the contest weekend. This will give an opportunity for non european stations to work this island group. Daytime operations are easy to arrange, the problem is with overnight stays on this island group. Most of the islands are part of a bird and nature reserve, however the Island we are aiming to operate from is little more than a few rocks sticking out of the North Sea. Oh yes, there is an automatic lighthouse as well. As long as the weather is fair there is no problem, however in rough weather it is a diferent and very dangerous place to be. But before I go on, we have had some new additions to our family. My XYL is a very proud mother!!!
To keep my long suffering XYL onside with my hobby I am developing a pets page showing the everyday lives of some of our resident pets.
