I work as a truck driver throughout Europe and using my FT817 with a 100w RM KL400 Linear. I am active, as much as possible, on all bands from 80m to 70cm

Weekdays I can often be found on 20M around 14.265 or when my routing permits on the ON0AN Antwerp 2m repeater.
Weekends find me on 80m around 3.760 with the Worked All Britain net whenever possible
Due to the size of my truck I am unable to leave the HF antennae raised when I am mobile in europe. The 4 metre bridges would cause constant damage to the loading coils. I use the WHF series of single band whips. I have found them easy to install and more importantly quick to load up.

Time for new projects, for some reason I have developed a fixation with Helium Balloons. I now have 4 Met Balloons and a supply of Helium. However The Easter holiday has delivered horrible weather so no playing yet. Watch this space for some photos

/Portable operations have begun. The first full outing of M0OVL/P took place Saturday 07/04/07 from a field near Wisbech, Cambridgeshire. The idea was to set up a homebrewed Inverted V Multiband Dipole. The aim was to make the setting up a one man operation. A bit of practice for this years IOTA contest. The picture below shows the whole set up. It was fun, a bit windy and fortunately no one watched the three failed attemps to raise the mast. End results were excellent on 80m ssb, 20m was better than I had managed in the past, 15/10m were dead. 40m was just too crowded to bother trying. The antenna will stay up for a week and then I will give it another test before packing it up for a while
When I am not working, I am very active with the Worked All Britain group mainly on 80/40m SSB. I also like to activate places of interest such as Lighthouses.
